ABOUT US
Next Phase Rugby connects student athletes with college programs allowing for unprecedented opportunities for players and teams. Through our platform, we help rugby players find suitable schools to reach their potential in the classroom and on the rugby pitch. We enable coaches to promote their programs and identify players who positively contribute to their institutions and rugby teams.
President/Founder
In 2016, Greg turned to coaching and founded Berks County Rugby. A club consisting of successful U13, U15 and high school programs. As the Berks Rugby players started looking for resources to continue their education and rugby careers in college, Greg had a difficult time finding those resources to assist them. It was at this time he decided to create his own resource to help these student athletes find the right college fit for them as well as grow the game of rugby in the USA. Next Phase Rugby was born.
Greg was born and raised in NY and now resides in Berks County, Pennsylvania. He is married to his wife Chrissy and has two rugby playing son’s, James (Mount St Mary’s) and Jacob (Kutztown University) and young daughter Anna who he is hoping will help start the Berks girls’ team!
Co-Founder
He is the first person to produce a college rugby ranking, and the first person to produce a high school ranking, and he continues to produce those rankings every week at GoffRugbyReport.com. Alex covers the games, players, and teams throughout youth, high school, college, and international rugby, and he is also a sought-after speaker and on-air announcer.
In addition, Alex heads up the annual search for the winners of the Rudy Scholz Award and MA Sorensen Award, given to the top men’s collegiate and women’s collegiate players in the country, respectively.
As a partner within Next Phase Rugby he said his goal is to “help high school student-athletes find the right college and launch their journey into adulthood, and do it within the framework of playing and enjoying rugby and the benefits that the sport brings.”
Also important, said Alex, is that “the college search process has to be informative and safe. We designed Next Phase Rugby around the idea that colleges will want to find players they wouldn’t normally know about, but it should also be a place where the high school students control the contact. It’s about broadening horizons, finding the right school for you, and doing it in a way that is right for everyone.”
